In summer 2021/22 the Baysie Rollers ran a series of three, free outdoor movie nights for the community.
Bayswater's beloved backyard, Bert Wright Park came alive with over 120 people attending each event.
We screened family classics Storm Boy, The Lorax, and Spirited Away on a giant inflatable screen, alongside local short film, Spirit of Happiness, which opened the series.
Local musicians Cara Flynn and Ari Davis provided sundowner entertainment for families in the early evening, whilst the Baysie Rollers put on a sausage sizzle and popcorn. We also had guest food trucks join us for the events! Thanks to Stroopie & Co and Grow & Grind coffee truck for joining us.
These events were presented during a period of ever-changing COVID-19 restrictions, and we're thrilled that we were able to deliver all three events in the series, complying with public health measures.
The Baysie Rollers thank Bendigo Community Bank Bayswater for sponsoring our Summer Movie Night series, and King Somm for their support.
We also ran a one-off Family Fun Movie Night in February 2017!
For this event, held at Halliday Park, we screened Australian feature film Paper Planes, and also kept families entertained with a bouncy castle, face painter, a paper plane flying competition, outdoor games and the usual live music, sausage sizzle and popcorn.
Thanks to our sponsors for the 2017 edition, the City of Bayswater, SRG Insurance, Bendigo Community Bank Bayswater, Bayswater Lacrosse Club and Muse Modern Interiors.
