Established in 2015 the Baysie Rollers is a network of community volunteers and stakeholders focused on connecting the community and revitalizing and growing the Bayswater Town Centre.
We are a ‘Not for Profit’ registered association who aim to facilitate connections amongst our community and build wider networks that lead to a vibrant, creative and prosperous community and town centre. A place in which people want to belong, live and work.
Since 2015, the Baysie Rollers has delivered over 40 different activities and events bringing thousands of people together. We meet regularly, discussing and sharing ideas and information. Each activity involves the participation of local residents, volunteers, business people and other community groups. We continuously tap into the skills and expertise of our community and build a strong connection with them.
Since our inception, volunteers have contributed over five thousand hours of their valuable time in the planning and execution of our events and activities. The contribution in reasonable dollar terms is more than $250,000.
Being a part of the Baysie Rollers means you are part of something big. A group that makes things happen through relationships, always with the community in mind.
Ever wondered why some suburbs just "buzz"? We're a group of diverse people looking to bring that feeling to the Bayswater Town Centre.
If "community engagement" doesn't sound exciting, you obviously haven't met our fabulous volunteers or attended one of our events!
We hosted our first street festival on Sunday 31st March 2019 right in the heart of Bayswater.
It was a huge success with approximately 15,000 attendees. We hosted a wide variety of events during the day including market stalls, food trucks, live music and arts performances, historical events, a dog show, workshops, lantern parade and firework finale.

Building on the success of 2019’s inaugural Baysie Arts and Street Fest, we are looking to build an ‘Ideas Bank’ and 'Skills Register' for our next big event.
This will involve working with our community to get their creative juices and ideas flowing on the design, planning and execution of the next Festival. Due to current post-covid conditions, we haven't been able to lock down a date for the next event, but we are planning smaller activities all the time. Whatever your ideas, we want you to be involved to help create, build and deliver another spectacular event.
But to do all of things we need more volunteers!
If you have skills to share, or want to learn about event management, fund raising for events, social media, community engagement, develop your creative side or just want to meet new people who have fun in making a difference in your community, then Baysie Rollers is the organisation for you.
The Baysie Rollers were formed in 2015 and are a Town Team committed to connecting the community of Bayswater and activating the Town Centre. A relatively new phenomenon, Town Teams are positive and proactive organisations that include businesses, landowners, community organisations and residents. They work collaboratively with their local government to improve a place or area, often a town centre or main street. Town Teams are doers!
Each team has different priorities and focuses, but all share this common approach. Town Teams are catalysts for change in their local area. The Town Team model breaks down the barriers that often divide businesses, residents and local governments, and helps everyone to better understand the challenges and the opportunities to improve places. Every action is important, and everybody should have fun in doing it.
