Our Artisan Markets were held in 2015, 2016 and 2017, and brought over 250 visitors each year to That Space in the town centre (9-11 King William Street).
In 2015, The Backyard Artisan Markets ran in December as a Christmas initiative, with people enjoying stallholders, live music, food and beverages in the heart of Bayswater.
After a successful debut, we then expanded the event in February 2016, adding more stallholders and expanding the duration of the event to welcome even more people to Baysie.
By 2017, we were too big for just 'The Backyard', so we rebranded the event as simply, 'The Artisan Markets' and expanded even further, taking over the carpark at 5-7 King William Street in addition to our existing event to accommodate even more stallholders.
Our 2017 event also tied in with our Community Painting Day, which saw community members young and old work with Mel McVee to create the Bendigo Bank mural.
There was truly something for everyone at these events, with market stalls, live entertainment, a petting zoo, live DJ, pop-up bars and a pop-up from Short Order Burgers.
This event had lots of supporters across the three years, but in particular the Baysie Rollers would like to thank the City of Bayswater, Bendigo Community Bank Bayswater, SRG Insurance and Yolk Property Group. Thanks also to Howdy Coffee and Short Order Burgers for co-presenting the 2017 edition with us.
